I as Light, You as Light（光としての私、光としてのあなた）
私の芸術的実践は、墨、伝統的な紙、光、そして「空（Void）」のあいだの精密かつ物理的な対話を通して、あらゆる現象の存在論的な相互関連性——東洋哲学における『縁起（Pratītyasamutpāda）』および『不二（Advaya）』の概念——を求究するものである。
制作プロセスは、和紙の上に一滴の墨を落とすことから始まる。黒い墨が繊細な紙の繊維に浸透していくなかで、私は無数の微小な点を描き、光と物質が出会う場を形成する。この表面に対し、私は物理的な変容をもたらす。線香の火を用いて紙に小さな穿孔（穴）を穿つことである。この微小な焼き穴を生み出す行為は、単なる『引き算』ではなく、『空』の活性化である。この微小な不在を生成することによって、紙は単なる平面の支持体であることをやめ、周囲の光が物理的に透過する透過性の閾値（シキイ）へと変容する。これにより『無』は可視の光を帯びた存在となる。
この手法は、木々の葉を透かして射し込む光の自然現象である『木漏れ日』に通じる視覚的共鳴を生み出す。自然界への言及を超えて、『木漏れ日』は私たちの集積的な存在のメタファーとして機能する。個々の光線が相互に作用し合ってひとつの大気場を形作るように、作品内のひとつひとつの点や穴は、周囲の全体との関係性によってのみ存在する実体として機能している。
墨、火、紙、そして光の相互作用を通して、主観と客観、存在と不在、自己と他者の境界は緩やかに溶解していく。私の作品は、鑑賞者を静謐な思索の空間へと誘い、すべての存在が互いに響き合いながら光り輝く世界の姿を、物理的な実体として提示するものである。
I as Light, You as Light
My artistic practice explores the ontological interconnectedness of all phenomena—the Eastern philosophical concept of Pratītyasamutpāda (interdependent co-arising) and non-duality (Advaya)—through a precise, physical dialogue between sumi ink, traditional paper, light, and void.
The creative process begins with a drop of sumi ink on washi (Japanese paper). As the dark ink permeates the delicate fibers, I draw countless minute dots, forming a field where light and matter meet. To this surface, I introduce a physical transformation: burning small perforations into the paper using incense fire. This act of creating minuscule burned holes is not mere subtraction, but an activation of the void. By generating these minute absences, the paper ceases to be a flat support; it transforms into a porous threshold through which ambient light physically passes, rendering "nothingness" into a visible, luminous presence.
This technique creates a visual resonance akin to komorebi—the natural phenomenon of sunlight filtering through leaves. Beyond a reference to the natural world, komorebi serves as a metaphor for our collective existence. Just as individual rays of light interact to form a singular atmospheric field, each dot and perforation in my work functions as an entity that exists only through its relationship with the surrounding whole.
Through the interplay of ink, fire, paper, and light, the boundaries between subject and object, presence and absence, self and other gently dissolve. My work invites the viewer into a space of quiet contemplation, offering a physical manifestation of a world where all existence continuously shines in mutual resonance.
